Here is something new from Nalgene. A 32oz Wide-Mouth bottle made from our BPA free Everyday material that glows in the dark. We think it’s pretty neat. Expose it to the light for a while and you will be able to see it in the dark. You may ask, “How much does it glow?”. Well, that’s kind of hard to answer, you can’t read by it, it won’t lead Santa’s sleigh, but you can see it in a dark room or campsite. If it’s on your bed stand you will be able to see it in the middle of the night. Faintly, but it’s there.
This bottle is not as clear as some of our other colored Everyday bottles but you can see a waterline. Its not quite opaque but it is close. All the other features of our Everyday material remain the same.
The large opening on our wide-mouth bottles easily accommodates ice cubes, fits most water purifiers and filters, and makes hand washing a breeze. The attached loop-top never gets lost and screws on and off easily. Printed graduations let keep track of your hydration. Dishwasher safe (Please make sure the top does not touch the heating element, or it will melt).

The Real Cost of Bottled Water
According to a 2001 report of the Worldwide Fund for Nature WWF, roughly 1.5 million tons of plastic are expended in the bottling of 89 billion litres of water each year. Those figures will have risen considerably by now, as the water bottled water industry is one of the fastest growing industries on earth.
Besides the sheer number of plastic bottles produced each year, the energy required to manufacture and transport these bottles to market severely drains limited fossil fuels. Bottled water companies, due to their unregulated use of valuable resources and their production of billions of plastic bottles have presented a significant strain on the environment
The authors of the WWF report suggested that water bottles be washed and reused in order to lessen their negative impact on the environment. Unfortunately, reusing plastic bottles further compromises the quality of the water, due to the fact that more and more phthalate leaches its way into the water as the bottle gets older.
